Treat solar as the top-up, not the main supply — that is how the maker describes it too. USB-C is the fast, primary way to charge it, and the panel on the cap claws charge back during the day so you are not stuck when you're off-grid for a few days. What it will not do is guarantee a full night's light from sun alone every single day; leave the trip with it properly charged and let the panel keep up.
About 5 hours of continuous light at maximum brightness on a full charge. The low setting stretches that a long way further, and it is the setting you'll actually sit under, so a normal evening barely touches the battery. Daylight on the panel extends it again.
Yes for rain and splashing — it is IPX4 rated, so an evening shower on the guy-line is fine and it is built to stay outside through ordinary weather. What IPX4 does not cover is submersion, so don't drop it in the lake or jet it with a hose.
